Make a List
Check things off the List
Feel Good
Move on to the next item check it off, feel even better, and repeat!!!
There are different theories I can share with you regarding the psychological, biological, and physiological impact that checking things off of a list has on our mind and bodies, but I won’t do that here. What I want to focus on, and what I want you to focus on, is that when we ‘get things done’ it feels good!
The fact is, whether we accomplish a small task, or complete a large project, the simple act of completing something is enough to make us feel good and in turn motivate us to continue tackling more tasks. Each time we achieve a goal, no matter how big or small it may be, we feel good, and when we feel good we get more motivated to take on our next challenge…the next thing on our list.
To get the full benefit (i.e., feel the best and be the most motivated), we want to create a list that helps us move towards our overall goal for the day, the week, and further, and if you’re interested, below is my Dose of Leadership on setting the right goals for the biggest reward.
I’d like to thank my good friend whose morning text gave me the inspiration I needed to write this blog and check something off my list. Guess what, theory to practice, it works! I feel good, I feel accomplished, and I am now motivated to keep moving forward to the next item on my list!
If you’re interested in working with me to set the right goals and having me help you to achieve them, reach out. I have a few slots open in my coaching schedule and would love to help you develop into an even stronger leader for yourself and those around you!
Have a great day and keep leading!
